Jack Manly Interview / Pornapalooza weekend

Just finished a great weekend hanging out with a whole bunch of porn stars. Saturday night, went to the Upper Floor Live porn Party for Kinkmen.com, with Alessio Romero. Had some fun, fucking some subs.... if you missed it, I'm sure you can go check out the site to see the archive. Right after that, Alessio and I hightailed it to the Pornstar Party, where I go-go danced with fellow pornstars J.R. Matthews and Tristan Jaxx. Had a blast! Next day had lunch with my buddies Nick Moretti and Alessio Romero, as well as new friends Drake Jaden, and Tyler Saint... Sometimes I have to pinch myself, when I'm hanging around all of these hot guys...... WTF???

Today, I woke up to see that the interview with Jack Manly had been posted on their blog. Sweet! It has some great quotes on my thoughts of the industry, after my first year. Here's an excerpt to enjoy:

JM: It looks like you have fun on the site and in your movies and other website appearances. Totally uninhibited & sexually joyful. Would you say that's an accurate reflection of you in real life?

RC: Pretty much. I learned a long time ago that life is short. So, I try to enjoy it to the fullest, and when I'm being filmed in the moment... I'm there. I've always been a sexual person, and kinda crazy when it comes to leaping head first into stuff sexually. So, after knocking down the porn door, there's really no stopping me.

JM: There's a definite energy in your work. In Dirty! you & Ty LeBeouf look like you had such a good time. How does a scene that turns out so well work? Was there a script or were you just told to go for it?

RC: Steve and Leif gave us a few guidelines for what they wanted in the scene.... but most of it Ty and ad-libbed. I've had a porn crush on Ty for a long time... so there were a few things I wanted to do with besides just fucking and sucking. I think I mentioned to Steve that we should be drinking beer, and that I should have a 40 ounce. I knew sooner or later we'd have to take a piss... and I really wanted to drink Ty's.

A few things to show you on the net today.... First, The Sword posted a story on my earlier post on Blackballed 7 and my "Aunt Jemima" costume from last year. Glad they get my twisted sense of humor, and the irony of putting racial deconstruction with a racial stereotype isn't lost on them. Laughed my ass off when I saw that! Thanks Naked Sword! But just for clarification.... "Honky" is spelled with a 'Y'. ;-)

Second, the Dirty! reviews are in.... and they are so fucking good! Jack Manly states, "Ty LeBeouf and Race Cooper have such chemistry together that you'd think you were watching their home movies as real life boyfriends." Martin Cox of ManNet also adds, "It doesn't get any more hot redneck than this, with guys like Race Cooper and Ty LeBeouf actually drinking beer out of a six-pack on a dirty, nasty couch sitting right on the bare ground in front of their trailer." I'm in New York and having a blast right now, meeting photographers on the east, and hanging with friends here.

Got to have a great shoot with Michael Alago yesterday, and going out to Brooklyn today to shoot with a cool new photographer that Michael recommended, called Adam Kozik. The best way to describe Adam's artwork is, it's a lot like Maplethorpe. Very simple, but stunning. I'm totally stoked! Check out a sample of what Michael and I shot yesterday (pictured here), and I'll hopefully have more photos to post with other photographers soon.

On the Hot List.... without resorting to rants!

I've gotta thank Jack Manly for including me in his half-year review of 2009's hot performers! That is fucking awesome! Being new to the industry and of color, I half expect to be looked over. I know, I know.... things are changing. I was conscious of the reason I picked 'Race' as a first name, and since porn is part of the image industry... Race is what everyone seems to zone in on, first. So, it's a pleasant surprise when someone sees beyond that, and actually looks at the performance and performer, instead. Reading some other blogs today, I also became slowly aware that people tend to air their dirty laundry out on the bloggosphere... a lot. It's something I've tried to avoid; but in the effort to be truthful, intellectual, and allow fans some insight into your life that isn't all rainbows and lollipops.... sometimes it's inevitable. Knowing this however, I don't want to make rants the driving force of my blog... nor do I want to write posts to comment on some inane and ignorant comment on me. I'm just not sure that it does anyone, any good. Except for maybe add to the drama.... and I'm the kind of person that can't stand the DRAMA! I'll even make a point to keep an arms length away, from those 13-year old little girls, that try to spread it. Hey, if that's your bag.... go for it. All the power to ya. I'd rather build my success on trying to stay positive, make fun of funny situations, and lift people up whenever possible. With that in mind.... again I have to applaud Jack Manly's blog.... he seems to stay positive, no matter what the situation. They don't call him 'Manly', for nothing. :)
